The most notable change was a two-point increase in Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski's overall. He's now gone from an overall rating of 86 to an overall rating of 89 within just two weeks. In all honesty, he's worthy of this. Gronk has already recorded 12 receptions, 129 yards and four touchdowns over the course of just two weeks. Gronk is in top form and I'm sure this won't be the last time he receives good reviews.
Tyrann Mathieu, Kansas City Chiefs safety is another well-known name whose popularity has seen his ratings rise. Mathieu was not able to play in Week 1 due to positive COVID testing and made his debut on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. It was a fantastic debut, as Honey Badger recorded two interceptions and one touchdown. Mathieu's Awareness rating and catch rating increase by one point at 99 and 82, respectively. The overall rating is currently an 96.
Following a rebound performance during Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, Titans running back Derrick Henry saw some ratings adjusted although he still sits at a 96 overall. Henry's rating at the start of his career surprised many as many fans thought he was the top running back of the league. He certainly proved his case with 182 rushing yards and three touchdowns in Week 2. Henry's catching went up to two points and a 64. His break tackle dropped three points to a score of 92.
Christian McCaffrey (Carolina Panthers halfback) is worth taking note of. He sustained a hamstring injury against the Houston Texans on Thursday night. Although injuries rarely affect the player's ratings in Madden, it will be fascinating to see whether Henry can take over the role of the best back in Madden 22.
