Regardle s of injury status, Williams is expected to provide a boost to the receiving corps of whatever team drafts him. How much his draft stock has been affected by the injury remains uncertain, but most teams don't appear bothered by it considering what has largely been a positive prognosis and projected recovery timeline.

Using that timeline from the date of injury Jan. 10 Williams would be cleared to return as soon as July 10, a suming the quickest turnaround po sible. Though dates have not been finalized yet, training camp is expected to start in mid-to-late July.

He had, at that time, began pool work at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla. as part of his rehab proce s.

Williams offered another update at Alabama's pro day on March 30, indicating he remained ahead of schedule 10 weeks after surgery. He said at the time his likely recovery timeline is five to seven months, adding that he hopes to be fully cleared for football activities by the start of training camp. He is going to prioritize "making sure I'm 100 percent" before returning to play, however.

Will Jameson Williams be ready to play in the 2022 NFL season?Considering Williams is aiming for a return to football activity by mid-to-late July, it stands to reason he would be ready to play once the season starts on Sept. 8, 2022 (barring a setback in his recovery). The general belief is that he will mi s at least some playing time.
The question, then, is what team will select Williams in the 2022 NFL Draft? He is generally considered one of the best players available (No. 11 overall, according to ), but the torn ACL makes him more likely to be a mid-to-late first-round pick.
Some outlets project Williams will be taken No. 8 overall by the Falcons (). Most mock drafts slate him going no sooner than 15th overall to the Eagles.
Williams is a first-round talent, and will slide no further than the late first round, either to the Packers with the 28th pick
